Travel Tunisia

Back from an 8 day trip to Tunisia with 9 seniors and 2 young ladies. It was an exhausting trip with me having flu a week before the trip and worsened during the trip. The hectic schedule was no help. But visiting Tunisia has always been my dream. It was as exotic as I always imagined. My idea of an oasis learned from young age has been properly corrected. We visited a big oasis with date farms, waterfalls and a small town. It wasn't as small as I thought.

Riding a camel over the dunes in Sahara Desert was a great experience. I find south of Tunisia is hauntingly beautiful with barren land, low mountains and dried bushes - definitely different with the normal beauty of the north with seaside and big cities.
The guide, Lutfi and the driver, Othman, loved us Malaysians because as always the Malays are great spenders and often disregard time and the comfort of others. I find this Malay habit disgusting. One senior woman even said, traveling without shopping is meaningless. The sights, culture, people and history are just side attractions. That was why they always took extra time to shop without consideration of those who boringly waited for them.

Land owner- a begger

A frustrating day yesterday. My attempt to see the broker for my land in Melaka who developes the lots to housing estate was not responding to our calls. It has been like this for a year. Houses had been built but as landowners we have not received a cent. My nephew, Said and I went to his house and saw his Mercedez parked outside but nobody answered when we rang the bell. You will be surprised to see his house, a palace I should say, in a prime location. I wonder how a Penghulu could have so much money and live in luxury. On top of that he was awarded a Dato', I heard. What's going on? Why is he avoiding us? When will he pay the payment for our lands? Are we being shortchanged? There were so many questions in my mind which he can answer but he refuses even to meet us. It seems like we are land owners but we become beggers for our own land!!!
What I want from him is a copy of the agreement signed by my brother on my behalf, a copy of the PA and the name of his lawyer but I couldn't get anything from him.
What I am worried is that I have given him Power of Attorney (PA) to the land and I want to revoke it. But unfortunately I don't have a copy and I need a copy from him and he was not responding. I was warned the danger of giving PA which can be manipulated but I was not aware of it then. My concern was to get somebody to develop the land so that I can fulfill my mother's wasiat. It has been more than 10 years and we get nothing.
I enlisted help from his Juruukur to talk to him. I hope he can help.
Problems come in multiple at one time and I am so tired of dealing with issues which sadden and frustrate me.
I hope my prayer will be answered.
