5th July 2012, we flew by Emirates to Dubai for our destination, Frankfurt, Germany. There were 6 members in this group, all grandmothers except one who is going to be a mother-in-law. Thank you Izan of DHIA Holidays for arranging this trip for us. Even though there were some glitches along the way which were blown out of proportion due to impatience, the trip went on fine. I had a great time and refused to let negative energy to dampen my spirit. Thank you Izrin, Haidi and my Gorgeous 5 weeks old grandson, Gabe, for sending me to KLIA.
Detlef Guske, the German driver and guide, waited for us at Frankfurt airport and straight away drove to find a mosque for us to pray. I thank Detlef for his enthusiasm to look for mosques or Islamic Centres so that we can do our prayer on time. Not many non-Muslim guides could understand this and would go all the way as he did.
We finally adjusted to the drive in his Mercedes van. Many thanks to the sisters, Fatimah and Che Nur, who could tolerate sitting backward and not getting nauseated.
We stopped many times along the way to take photos from Frankfurt, through Nuremburg and then Praque in Czeck Republic. Due to late arrival in Frankfurt, we were not able to see Neremburg as planned.
It was cold when we finally checked in at Hotel Expo, Praque. My room partner, Shanta was a gem. We got on fine together. Shanta is an amazing grandma. At 77 years old, she is full of energy which put me to shame sometimes.
The next cold morning we toured Praque with the help of a local guide. Unfortunately, I didn't gain much from her as I was busy taking photographs and she was busy leading so many other tourists, not bothering to check whether her group members were together. We could do better going on our own if we had the time.Praque is an old city with intricate old buildings with history. As Shanta said old buildings have character.
In the evening, Detlef took us again to the city to see the famous Bohemian crystals. Though beautiful, the crystals were not that much cheaper and not practical to take back as we had many more cities to travel. As usual many of us went for fridge magnets as souvenirs for our travels. Maybe one day I would go again there and learn the history on foot.
Hai, macam mana nak susun balik blog ni. Susah kalau berubah-ubah. OK nanti dah pandai, akan betulkan gambar-gambar tu.
